Brooke Lauren Fraser
Brooke was born in Connecticut, grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and went to the University of Tennessee for Broadcast Journalism. She always had her sight on NYC and wanted to work for a network news show as soon as possible. Her dream came true upon college graduation when she got the call from NBC. Currently working at the TODAY Show she loves New York City but will always call Tennessee home. You can usually find her dancing to Taylor Swift, spending quality time with her girlfriends or reading a great fiction novel.
Casey Charles Drummond
Casey was born in New Jersey, grew up in Marietta, GA and attended the Georgia Institute of Technology to study Finance. Working for an airline in college he traveled all over the world and settled on moving to NYC post graduation to better understand his northern roots. Casey feels honored to be part of such a vibrant community in NYC that is passionate about serving the city and being a force for good. You can usualy find him learning about something new, engaged in deep conversation with friends, or playing just about any sport.
Before the Ring
Casey & Brooke moved to New York City for their jobs in September 2012 and February 2013, respectively.
Casey & Brooke each joined Redeemer Presbyterian Church immediately upon moving.
Casey & Brooke found the same close group of friends through church and attended many of the same outings and events. But, Casey & Brooke did not immediately start dating… or even immediately become close friends.
However, in six months time everything changed- NO, still not to dating but a friendship slowly formed September 12, 2013 – a year to the day after Casey moved to New York City. They attended a Cru Millennial Thursday night dinner and ended up talking for awhile about faith, jobs and passions. Both left with a deeper opinion of each other and the foundation for friendship was set. As the months flew by Casey and Brooke became better and better friends.
In March 2014, after many conversations with friends and prayer, Casey decided to ask Brooke out on a date. However, she was very much caught off guard and said she needed ‘to think about it.’ Four asks later Casey kept persisting until he turned that I need ‘to think about it’ into a half-hearted Yes. Casey was pumped and the date was set for March 27, 2014.
On that one Wednesday night, everything changed…again. Brooke realized their strong friendship had the potential for a lasting relationship. At the end of the night Casey walked Brooke to her door and said he had a great time and wanted to take her out again thinking she would probably have ‘to think about it.’ But Brooke didn’t miss a beat and responded, ‘I would love that.’
Over the course of the next days, weeks and months Casey & Brooke centered their relationship on God, created memories around the country and fell in love in New York City. Both came to the city for their jobs but God had a different plan.
